Jumpstart your success with Pegasus!

Pegasus Leadership is dedicated to providing the finest in personal and professional leadership and growth opportunities to people in a variety of roles and organizations. What are the critical skills we can develop? Communication, team-building, initiative, problem-solving, self-confidence and interpersonal skills - the skills employers want and not coincidentally the same skills participants tell us they want to develop - both professionally and personally!

Pegasus uses an experiential-education approach that is not only engaging but gets results. We use horses as the focus of the experience. We don't ride, instead, our horses serve as a problem to be solved... interference in the problem solution... and as reliable, often comical and always completely non-judgmental providers of feedback on emotion and behavior. Even people who say they are afraid of horses quickly become comfortable with the gentle and people-friendly horses at Pegasus.

How it works When participants attend a Pegasus session we spend time helping everyone get comfortable interacting with the horses, then lead them through a series of problem-solving situations, with the horses, designed to mimic issues relevant to their particular organization or situation. Throughout, skilled facilitators help participants process the metaphors and behavior in order to leave the session with enhanced knowledge and actual skills.

The Pegasus Approach is an opportunity for to learn team and leadership skills by doing rather than reading or hearing. Hundreds, probably thousands, of books and seminars are available for you to read or hear about leadership and related skills or sometimes even role-play. At Pegasus you learn by learning and by doing.

How was this developed? The Pegasus Approach is based on many years of research and writing about community and organizational development and leadership as well as many years of leadership experience. The Approach is enhanced by the infusion of expertise from a variety of consultants as well as the experience of the participants.

The Pegasus Approach is is committed to: 1) data-driven accountability in our practice 2) skilled and knowledgeable facilitators, 3) self-efficacy as the foundation of our problem-solving activities and 4) mentally healthy, well-cared-for horses.

Whether in the workforce or their personal life people today are looking for more meaningful interactions. Your workforce is more fluid and want more than just a paycheck - they want opportunities to grow, and to contribute and to be recognized for their efforts. A Pegasus Seminar is a great way to provide all three - a chance to grow and contribute in a fun and rewarding environment.

Did you know that when people learn by lecture or presentation they only retain about 5% of what they learn? When they read the information, the retain only 25% and even with a demonstration that increases to only 30%. However, when people learn through an experiential method like the Pegasus Approach they retain a full 90% of what they learned. When was the last time you sat through a boring seminar with a presenter droning on and on? How about one where you got to role play? Or one where the facilitator told you the top 10 or 3 or 7 ways to...whatever. Did the experience leave you eager for more seminars? Did it change your life ? Did it change you as a professional? The Pegasus Approach can and does change lives - with immediate results that deepen and mature over time.

Change my life??? Seriously?!

People who participate in our programs absolutely love the authentic interaction and observations that leads to personal growth. Organizations love the energy and commitment generated at a Pegasus workshop that leads to utilization of the full potential of their human capital. Some comments:

I was amazed at how much effect a horse can have on people...very unique and enjoyable...I probably learned the most from watching others interact with the horses and attempt to complete the tasks at hand...I thought this was a wonderful training...I loved the many opportunities to collaborate, challenge oneself, trust, reflect and think.
